seattle styling workshop

If you follow me on instagram or facebook, you may have heard about my styling workshop in Seattle this March. I am so, so excited to be sharing my styling secrets from 20+ years in the business. I want to be able to help bloggers and anyone interested in food to make their culinary creations pop, to make them look irresistible. While I help you style the food with amazing props and materials, Deborah (the photographer behind all of the gorgeous photos in my cookbook) will show you how to light and shoot the food. She will focus on how to set up your own studio in your home. It’s going to be amazing! The lovely Cassandra from the fabulous blog coco + kelley, will be hosting us at the stunning 95 Yesler Creative Studios. The workshop will be held March 22nd from 9-5. It’s going to be such a fun and inspiring day. I can’t wait to meet everyone! To buy your tickets, visit the workshop page right here. Please let me know if you have any questions. I am happy to answer them!

Fred + Ginger

Today I have Miss Cassandra LaValle sharing her go-to fall drink. Cassandra writes the popular lifestyle blog Coco+Kelley. Combining her talent for styling, merchandising and branding, Cassandra launched her company (by the same name) in October 2008. She guides clients in discovering their personal style as a part of the design process, which is the essence of the coco+kelley philosophy: Life is in the details. Style accordingly.

Coco+Kelley has been recognized by editors at Lucky Magazine, Martha Stewart, House Beautiful and Sunset Magazine, and was honored to be listed on the London Times 50 Best Design Blogs! Take it away Cassandra…

As fall has begun to truly set in here in the Pacific Northwest, I’ve been turning towards my favorite Bourbon cocktails to keep me warm. An acquired taste for me, I really began enjoying this spirit just last year, and have been experimenting with it ever since! While I have a few favorite concoctions, this one keeps things nice and simple – and therefore is on my go-to list! This drink is called Fred + Ginger, it’s strong enough for a man, pretty enough for a gal. It will be sure to please either party. – Cassandra

Fred + Ginger

  • 1.5 oz of Bourbon
  • 1.5 oz Ginger Liqueur
  • .5 oz fresh lemon juice

Combine all three ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon, and sip!

    Thanks, Cassandra!
