One of my favorite things to do on Pinterest is to put together boards inspired by a color.
Right now my color inspiration is yellow, probably because spring starts on Friday. From yellow books to yellow fashion to yellow flowers, I am really feeling the color recently. It’s just so vibrant and fun. What inspires you to create Pinterest boards? I would love to know! Please link me to your boards in the comments section because I would love to follow you. Every year I make plans to pull off the perfect holiday party. Yes, even though I wrote the book on perfect parties, I still get great pleasure from setting up the bar and setting the perfect table. I wanted to share some of the ideas I am kicking around in my head, and share some pins that were particularly inspirational to me. Here are my fav pins thus far:
So this bar set up is so perfect, easy, yummy, and self serve. Check and check – all the things I love to see when I walk into a holiday party! Cheers!
Okay, so I am a sucker for black and white buffalo check. Nothing says “wintery” like these pretty wood slice chargers.
Although the idea of a little ribbon wrapped around the plate seems like a simple and festive approach, too.
Little plastic reindeer always stop me in my tracks at the craft store. Here’s a brilliant idea to decorate your holiday dessert; I think this is going to have to be a must!
Cinnamon sticks? Yes, please. I always have these in my party tool kit. If you want to read more about what I have in my party toolkit, get my cookbook Picture Perfect Parties. You will be stylist ready for all your upcoming parties (take it from me). Follow me for more great holiday inspiration boards on Pinterest.

This is the time of year when it’s okay to wear orange and black. YAY! Two of my favorite colors. I LOVE black on everything. Here a few of my Halloween-y crushes. One of my favorite things is the Apocalyptic Candle. It’s the most divine candle I have ever had. It smells amazing and infuses my house with a dark rich fall scent. I am in love!
- Dior Lipstick in Warm Rose. Sadly this color is currently sold out, and I can see why! What a fabulous color for fall.
- Can we just talk for a second about the Talitha cape? That material, that fringe, that gold embellishment! Swoon.
- Who doesn’t need an orange backpack this time of year? I’ll take one of these Phillip Lim beauties.
- Don’t forget to have a little fun with your nails this month. This nail polish should do the trick.
Enjoy this time of year and fill it with stylish choices in orange and black! Have a dark and fabulous month, friends! Check out my “dark and fabulous Pinterest board here.

One of the coolest things about pinterest is that I can collect still life photographs to my heart’s content.
I had a very artistic childhood, my Dad Laszlo, was an artist, an oil painter. When I was little I lived in his art studio. He taught me the art of styling a still life. He taught me composition, light and balance when I was around 5. That’s when we started our lessons. We shopped every weekend and pointed out all the finer things as we trolled art galleries and flea markets for props to use in his paintings. So I started early in my love of beautiful objects thanks to him. He was a man of elegance and amazing taste. My teacher and mentor of all things style.
My Dad Laszlo: I am pretty sure that his love for still life is why I am so passionate about them to this day and probably why I became a photo stylist. My early lessons from my Dad made me hone my eye for composition. Painterly still life photography makes me swoon. Here are a couple of picks from my still life pinterest collection. Enjoy xx Since I wrote about composition in our last styling lesson, I wanted to point out that it would be a great idea to study still lives and then set up some still lives to photograph. Still lives are my favorite type of photography to style and buy props for. Have fun with it and with your new found knowledge of composition. This should be a great way to practice styling and photography!
Let me know how you do, take lots of photos and have fun!
